Bike Week focuses the community’s attention on cycling as a form of transport. Bike Week promotes the many benefits of cycling, improved personal and community health, reduced air pollution and traffic congestion. Bike Week is an initiative of Queensland Transport. Bicycle Queensland has organised these events with Bicycle Mackay, an affiliated Bicycle User Group, doing most of the on-ground local work.
